“This is Love”

A Study through 1 John

What does it really mean to know God, walk with Jesus, and love others? In 1 John, we are reminded that the Christian life is more than what we say we believe—it is a life transformed by the love of God.

In our sermon series, This Is Love, we will journey through 1 John and explore some of the marks of a life rooted in Christ: walking in the light, resisting the pull of the world, living as children of God, loving one another, and finding true life in the Son. Again and again, John brings us back to the source of it all—not our ability to love God, but God’s love for us.

“We love because he first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19

God’s love is not merely something we receive; it reshapes who we are and how we live. Because we have been loved by God, we are called to live in His light, obey His commands, love our brothers and sisters, and reflect the character of Jesus to the world around us.
